Our next meeting will be Tuesday, June 15 at the Talbot County 911 Center at 7 PM.  We will have our election of officers at this meeting.

Mike, N3OUE says “ don’t forget the Triathlon this Sunday June 13th in Cambridge”.  We need about 15 club members to provide the communication around the race course.  You can contact Mike at home in the evening at 410 822 0856. We had a meeting at Denny’s on June 9th with good attendance to go over the plans for the race this Sunday.  Brett, KB3HGP has volunteered to be net control for the event.

This will be our last meeting before Field Day.  We are planning to set up the towers and antennas on Friday, June 25th at 2 PM, and the operating part of Field Day will start Saturday afternoon on June 26th.  Paul, W3PAW has bought a 10-15-20 meter beam and a tower for us to put up.  We are planning to have 4 HF stations set up, all of which will be run on generator power.  The Field Day location will be at the University of Maryland Horn Point, just west of Cambridge.  The EARS club will be providing the food and drinks, and Lee, KA3HYJ will be in charge of the grill !!

Jim, W3JAL had his birthday celebration at one of our General classes and passed out slices of the “W3JAL” cake !!
The General classes are finished, and the testing took place on May 19th, 2004.  Mike, N3OUE ran the testing along with K3OLE, WA3JAX and K3RUQ assisting.  Here are the results:

Lee Stevens, KA3HYJ, upgraded to General

Richard Hash, WB3IYO, upgraded to Technician +

Elliott McConnell, N3NVW, upgraded to General

Mike Rubin, KB3KXE, upgraded to General

John Bailey, KB3KXJ, upgraded to General

Chris Koch, KB3KWE, upgraded to General.

Congratulations to all !!

Peter Colket, K3PKC and his wife Nancy are on a wonderful cruise to Alaska. They left just before the testing.  We all want to say how much we appreciate all the work that Peter has put into the General classes.  Several of the hams need to work on their cw some more, and I am sure the next time they take their test they will make it.

Lucas, KB9MEJ has graduated from Chesapeake College, and already landed a full time job in Easton.  Welcome to the working world!!

Bob, W9GE is building a home made sterba curtain antenna for 17 meters.  This will put a big signal from Easton into Europe when he gets it up in the air.

W3SO will be operating in the VHF contest from Altoona this weekend.  Paul, W3PAW will be with Marty W3YOZ for the contest.

K8GP will be operating the VHF contest with Owen, K3CB from the mountain top in West Virginia.

Jack, N3TAF is in the hospital.  We wish him a speedy recovery.
