OCTOBER, 2005 NEWSLETTER

www.k3emd.com

Our next meeting is tomorrow evening, Tuesday October 18, 2005 at 7 PM.

My apologies for not getting the newsletter out a few days earlier, the third Tuesday of the month sort of sneaked up on me this month!

The big news for this month is the very successful triathlon that was held on October 1st, 2005.  This was a very big race that started at 7 am and finished at midnight!  It was run in Dorchester County and our repeater in Trappe did a great job for us all around the course.  Mike, N3OUE was in charge and Brett, KB3HGP and Dan KB3MEA worked net control right up to midnight.  We had very good club participation with the following members helping: W3BFC, KB3KXK, K3PKC, W9GE, W3YRS, N5LKJ, KB3HGP, W3DMH, KB3HYX, K3OLE, N3OUE, KB3HYY, KB3MEA, K3RUQ, N3TFO, W3MWH, W3TMD, and KB3HSJ.  My apologies if I have forgotten anyone…  Our club has received a donation of $1000.00 for our communications effort.  This was a very long day and many of us spent the entire 17 hours there.  Thanks to everyone.

Gene, K3SVA  (who has one month now till retirement) has made a list of the EARS equipment that is at Bob, W9GE’s qth for our records.  Anyone that has any EARS equipment, please let us know at the meeting so we can get it all accounted for.

Owen, K3CB is not operating out of his new shack, and Bob, W9GE has been busy this month putting in an insulated floor in his shack, and insulating his workshop.  K3RUQ has his tower up at his new house in Trappe, but no antennas yet.

Dana, N3TFO has agreed to remove the ham radio desk from the Red Cross, and he is also talking to the Easton Fire Department about using their ladder truck to remove our antennas from the Red Cross tower… The Red Cross has agreed to let us leave our tower there so it can be sold with their building, so this will save us from having to take it down.

We will be having dinner at Ledos in Easton before the club meeting, all are welcome.
