The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. August 15, by President Owen, K3CB The following were in attendance: Bill, K2WC; John, K3OLE; Mac, N3NVW; Peter, K3KPC; Gene, K3SVA; Allan, N5LKJ; Jim, W3JAL; Bill, KB3HSJ; Mike, N3OUE; Tinsley, K3RUQ; Dan Coda, KB3KXK; Lee, K3TMD; Marty, W3YOZ; Owen, K3CB; Dan Mayer, KB3MEA

The minutes of the July meeting were approved as distributed previously on the K3EMD e-mail reflector

Treasurer John, K3OLE, reported that the CD at Talbot bank has been obtained. $3500 @ 5.10% for 11 months

The vote on a potential new member was postponed.

Dan, KB3MEA spoke about the Triathlon September 30 at 7:00 a.m. Maps were passed out call or e-mail Dan if you can volunteer.  Dan's e-mail is danm@atlantic.bb.net Dan will call a special meeting for volunteers.

Allan moved a $50 donation for reflector hosting for 2006. Some discussion followed. This will be part of the annual budget review.   Passed without objection.

Planning Committee report by Peter, K3PKC:

1. Ideas put into five categories which the committee proposed be standing committees of EARS: Communication - e.g. public service, RACES etc., Community Outreach - e.g. public relations, Membership & Social Activities e.g Field Day & Christmas Dinner, Technology, Training & Education - recruiting new hams, up grade current hams etc. 2. Discussion followed

Owen requested a motion to put us in proper order. Marty moved & John seconded to accept the Planning Committee's report. The report was accepted: 15 yes; 1 not voting.

Owen requested that Training & Education be the first standing committee to be formed. Dan Coda moved, Marty seconded. Motion carried without objection.

Gene passed out complete inventory of known club owned equipment and supplies as of August 15. The report as accepted with appreciation.

Tinsley resigned as net control of the Tuesday repeater net. Deep appreciation expressed for his long service & deep commitment to this task. Bill, K2WC, moved that the net be cancelled & Training & Education be charged with deciding its future. Passed with 11Yes, 4 No.

Marty's Fowl Fest Picnic will be 8/19

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. & refreshments were served.

NEXT MEETING 9/17 will feature Gene Zimmerman W3ZZ Editor of the monthly QST column "The World Above 50 MHz." His talk will be an introduction to "weak signal" VHF operating on SSB and CW entitled:

* Beyond the Repeater: A Whole New World You Never Knew Existed

This should be a GREAT EVENING.  Let's have as close to 100% attendance as we can muster.  Feel free to bring a guest!
