The June 20, 2006 meeting of EARS was called to order by President Owen, K3CB at 7:00 p.m.  In attendance were Bill, K2WC; Dan, KB3MEA; John, K3OLE; Dan, KB3KXK; Allan, N5LKJ; Bob, W9GE; Lee, W3TMD; Tinsley, K3RUQ; Ed, K3NVW; Owen, K3CB; Peter, K3PRC; Bill, KB3HSJ; Jim, N3EZT; Marvin, KB3HTE; Mike, N3OUEA & Jim, W3JAL  (If I got your name or call wrong, it was due to your handwriting-Bill, K2WC) A group photo of the incoming officers was taken for future publication in The Star-Democrat.

Outgoing President, Bill Windsor, KB3HSJ presented the gavel to Owen, who assumed the chair.  A vote of thanks & applause for Bill & the outgoing slate for a term of office well served.

The minutes of the May meeting were approved, as was the treasurer's report by John, K3OLE.  $4716.68 current balance in Checking & Savings.  This includes recent Triathlon income & all outstanding bills are paid.

Subject of dues for upcoming year was raised.  It was moved seconded and approved that rules be suspended so that the question of dues could follow approval of a budget.

Discussion of the budget was tabled until such time as the purpose of EARS is clarified.

The sources of income was gone over by John, K3OLE, but it was decided to forego budget development until we decide what it is we want to be about & to do as a club.

July Triathlon canceled due to lack of applicants

John, K3OLE moved, and it was seconded & approved that the Treasurer be authorized to move $3500 into an 11 month CD at Talbot Bank.

Amending of by-laws tabled indefinitely.

The club needs to hear of a good "marriage" between RACES & ARES.  Jim, N3EZT to invite such a resource person for the next meeting.

Gene presented in writing a detailed inventory of club equipment & junk.  It was moved by Dm, KB3KXK to "trash" the junk.  Seconded & carried.

New approach for refreshments needed.  Tinsley was thanked for his faithful service in providing refreshments month after month for several years.  Jim, W3JAL will provide same for July, Bill, K2WC for August, Bob, W9GE for September, Dan KB3KXK for October & Bob, W9GE for November

Bob, K9JE reported Field Day organized and ready to go.  Food will be purchased in advance based on 20 operators.
