EASTON AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY, INC JUNE 2005 NEWSLETTER Hello all EARS members. Our next meeting will be Tuesday June 21st, 7 PM at the Talbot 911 Center in Easton. Our main topic will be Field Day which is only about a week away. John, K3OLE has secured us a wonderful spot on the Choptank River outside of Cambridge at the Univ. of Maryland Horns Point. It is on the same property as the last couple of years but up the river a little closer to Cambridge by a few hundred yards. This location has a wooden building with screen windows and picnic tables inside. There is no electricity, but Paul, W3PAW is going to have his Field Day generators. This spot is more user friendly to putting up towers and antennas than last year’s site, but is a little more rustic. Bob, W9GE has already scoped out the location of his 40 meter delta loop! This past Sunday on June 12th, 2005 the Eagle Man Triathlon was held in Cambridge with almost 2000 running, biking and swimming the course. Mike, N3OUE was in charge and Brett, KB3HGP did a great job as net control for the whole race. We had 16 of our club members help with the race: N3OUE, KB3HGP, KB3KXK, K3OLE, N3NVW, N3ZSV, KB3MEA, WB3LFH, N5LKJ, W3JAL, KB3HSJ, KB3HYX, W3YRS, N3TFO, K8JW and K3RUQ. Stephanie, KB3HYX gets the award for coming from the longest distance to help us. She operated from the lead car again this year. Our communication effort was very effective with several emergency calls. Our club will receive a check for $500.00 for our efforts. John, K3OLE has sent out a mailing which everyone should have received with a copy of our new by-laws as well as a current roster of EARS members. Please put these dates on your calendar:
