EARS MEETING MINUTES
December 19, 2006

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Owen, K3CB

Secretary's Report read by Bill, K2WC.  Approved as read.

Treasurer's Report read by John, K3OLE.  Approved as read.

Allan, N5LKJ, re-introduced the notion of a backup power source for the repeater.  Much discussion about UPS vs. a big battery.  It was moved & seconded that Allan proceed with project up to $250.00.  Item should be 100% duty cycle for 2 1/2 hours  Approved

Bill, K2WC, requested the club to support the Spectrum Defense Fund of ARRL given the unprecedented legal action being brought by ARRL against the FCC over broadband over  powerline interference issues.  Bill said this is as serious a crisis for ham radio as he has seen in 55 years in ham radio.  Concept approved.  Amount to be decided at the January meeting. 1 opposed.

Nominating Committee & Red Cross desk & tower issues to be resolved at January meeting.

Dan Mautz will do snacks for January meeting

Reminder of the EARS Christmas Dinner December 21 at Harbortowne
