JANUARY 2005 NEWSLETTER
Happy New Year all EARS members. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner last month at Suicide Bridge in Secretary, having our largest turnout ever .
Our next meeting will be Tuesday January 18th, 7 PM at the Talbot 911 Center.
Owen, K3CB will be our guest speaker this month and will be giving a presentation on VHF propagation. This should be a very interesting topic to many of us.
Jim, W3JAL our new membership chairman has sent out the dues letters to our current 44 members. The dues are $30.00 per year and should be mailed to EARS, PO Box 311
Easton, MD 21601. Thank you to those who have already mailed in their 2005 dues.
Brett, KB3HGP held the RACES meeting 1-11-05. In attendance were KB3HGP, W3DMH, K3RUQ, K3OLE, and W3TMD. John, K3OLE took over as our representative from Talbot County and checked in to the Maryland monthly RACES net on 146.76 from the EOC. W3TMD and K3RUQ and net control K3EMD passed exercise messages back and forth for practice on the 045 repeater from the Easton Hospital. Put on your calendar for next month 2-8-05 (the second Tuesday) to come to the Talbot 911 Center. Brett and Ed Mullikin, N3NUY will be awarding the RACES members with their letter from Talbot County and pictures will be taken for the photo ID badges.
The press will be on hand to do a news article on Talbot County RACES and the new members.
Paul, W3PAW and John, K3OLE and Lee, W3TMD are working on the EARS HAMFEST.
They have found that we can not have it at the Talbot Community Center this year because of the renovations being made. We are hoping to have it at the Talbot Ag Center, just north of the Community Center. Our tentative date is Saturday, April 23, 2005. This date will depend on the availability of the Ag Center.
